THE SIXTEEN VIPASSANĀ-ÑĀṆAS

This book does not begin with doctrine. It begins with experience. Before there are ideas, there is seeing. Before there are answers, there is looking. It returns to the earliest Dhamma, where practice begins not with belief, philosophy, or metaphysical speculation, but with the simple invitation to observe experience as it is. It traces the gradual unfolding of insight through the sixteen vipassanā-ñāṇas, from the first clear seeing of impermanence to the possibility of liberation.

Again and again, the Buddha’s teaching points in one direction: away from concepts and towards direct seeing. The teachings are not presented as truths to be accepted, but as invitations to investigate for oneself. This book follows that same movement. It does not ask you to adopt a philosophy, defend a tradition, or embrace a new set of beliefs.

It asks only for the willingness to look carefully, to see directly, and to discover what becomes visible when nothing is added to experience.

Everything begins with seeing. Nothing more is asked than the willingness to look.
